During the course of the project, the team focused on four key areas of improvement:
Closer Adjustments: Ensuring that door closers operated correctly to enable automatic and secure closing of fire doors, a critical factor in containing fire and smoke.
Gap Leaf to Frame Improvements: Adjusting doors to achieve the correct leaf-to-frame gaps, enhancing the doors' ability to resist the passage of smoke and fire.
Hinge Replacements: Installing new, compliant hinges to improve door stability, alignment, and fire resistance performance.
Intumescent/Smoke Seal Replacements: Fitting new intumescent and smoke seals to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through door edges and frames, significantly enhancing compartmentation.
