ALERON Fire Protection carry out all aspects of structural steel fire protection, firestopping and fireproofing, compartmentation, from structural steel linings and encasement, to intumescent painting and cementitious spraying, providing up to 2 hours fire protection to steel members. Intumescent Coatings
Intumescent Coatings are considered to be the most cost effective systems for 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes fire protection to structural steel. Intumescent paints are either water-based, predominately suited for an internal use, or solvent-based, predominantly used for external applications. Decorative topcoats in a variety of RAL colours are available from all manufacturers to ensure the visual appearance is in keeping with its surroundings. Once the intumescent paint has been applied, paint thickness readings (DFT's) are taken to show that the correct paint loadings have been achieved.

Cementitious Coatings
Cementitious coatings is a specialist fire protection system based on spray application of several layers to protect structural steel or concrete from the effects of fire. Cementitious materials are mixed with water to create a uniform slurry mix that is sprayed directly onto the steel fabrics. This fire protection system allows the fire protection material to follow the contours of the structure and fill hard-to-reach gaps. Cementitious coatings are relatively inexpensive materials for the fireproofing of structural steels and are the preferred choice for many firestopping applications where smooth finishing appearance is not a requirement.

Board Systems
Fire Protection Boards have the benefit of being a clean dry process that combines a neat, clean finish with the required fire protection performance. Board systems are designed to offer up to 240 minutes fire protection and are fitted around steel columns and beams to form a box encasement and provide decorative finishes depending on the type of board system used.
